TourismWA and Australia’s South West (ASW) required an innovative Tourism Destination Management Plan (TDMP) to guide sustainable tourism development and management for the coming decade across four sub-regions (BunGeo, Margaret River Region, Great Southern and Southern Forests), each differing in destination maturity.

This inaugural TDMP was informed by stakeholder consultation and engagement across the sub-regions and multiple local governments, using a mixed method approach.

INK’s destination analysis used baseline data, user experience insights and future tourism trends, considering regional, sub-regional and local drivers through three lenses – supply, demand and capability. The inaugural TDMP included four distinct sub-regional strategies and action plans, aligned to local capacity, scale and resources.
